Autumn Southern Wedding | Lindsay + Mason

Lindsay and Mason met at.....a gas station!! HAHA WHAA!? #sewcute  Then they started reeeeally getting to know each other through a college ministry, The Well and have been pursing marriage throughout their relationship.

The first thing I noticed and loved about Lindsay is that Lindsay is a GIVER! She is constantly putting others needs before hers and is so humble about it! The first thing I noticed about Mason was that he is such a GENTLEMAN, he is a pretty good rapper and loves his sports (you'll see his Vols socks in the ceremony, HA!)

My first favorite part was capturing their first kiss ever (AKA the sweetest moment EVER). I have so much respect for both of them that they have saved this moment and it was the most magical moment ever!

My second favorite part was noticing all of the parents AND grandparents have been married for decades. I wish many years of marriage for these two sweethearts!

xoxo, Katherine Joy

A Bohemian Backyard Wedding | Victoria and Daniel

Your closest friends and family and a stunning mountain view in your backyard. What more do you want?

Daniel and Victoria's bohemian backyard wedding was small and very intimate, it was perfect. If you can't already tell, when Daniel first saw Victoria in her stunning wedding gown, he couldn't hold back the tears, it was SO sweet!  Seeing how Victoria's dad looked at his daughter was just as sweet.

It was an honor to capture their love on their wedding day. Seeing how close Daniel is to his pretty big family, having six brothers and sisters was so intimate. There was NEVER a dull moment with the family!!

A Whimsical Woodland Senior Session | Rachael

Rachael was a total natural at modeling and was SO down for anything when shooting her session. When location scouting at The Wedding Barn at Beck Mountain, we found this awesome dam in the forest and totally took advantage of it!

Rachael is a senior at Elizabethton High School. When she is not in school, she spends her time playing volleyball for EHS and is the tallest one on her team! After she graduates, she hopes to get involved in the Digital Media program at ETSU (which is an awesome choice, if you ask me ;)

Thanks @MichaelleLea for the location suggestion ;)

Classy Romantic Detroit Wedding | Tom and Andrea

What a lovely day with Tom, Andrea and their family and friends. They definitely know how to get down on that dance floor and PARTY. My favorite part was seeing the different cultures mix throughout the night. One minute DJ Incredible was playing Latin music and the next minute he played Persian music, it was incredible.

Thanks to all the incredible Vendors, I loved working with you all!!

Nashville Romantic Garden Wedding | Leah + Mojo

On July 23rd these two beautiful people inside and out made the biggest commitment of their lives to the Lord, their family, friends and each other.

I've photographed a lot of pretty weddings, however not only was Leah and Mojo's wedding stunning, but most importantly their hearts and commitment to marriage was even more beautiful. You could see the deep love Leah and Mojo have for each other through their handwritten vows as they tear up expressing themselves in front of the Lord, their families and friends and each other. They have the best of friends that were always there for them making sure they were happy!

Out of the whole incredible day, my favorite moment was the Father-Daughter First look. You could see how much Leah's dad absolutely adores his daughter in his tears, holding her so tight and close to him.

The guests and myself laughed a lot, cried a lot, and it was so good!

Thanks to all the incredible vendors for making this day happen!!

I GOT MARRIED, Y'ALL!!!

Finally, the day arrived, I'm getting married.

The day/night was exactly what everyone tells you, it flies by so quickly.

The number one question everyone asked me while wedding planning was, "OMG how are you going to choose your photographer?!" Which is funny because it was actually the easiest decision to make, being pretty particular. ;) Yellow Bird Visuals, of course.

After spending weeks upon weeks thrifting at local flea markets, making a million DIY projects from my favorite blogger, Almost Makes Perfect, our Spring Boho wedding couldn't have been more magical. Even though it rained and we didn't get to use our wedding decor, it was still beautiful and Michaella couldn't have captured it better. More photos to come!

Never thought a local product photo session could get into ESPN and Time Magazine. If you haven't heard the story already, several months ago, Toronto Baseball Player, Daniel Norris modeled for a product shoot for a local handmade goods business called, The Fouled Anchor. We thought we would take advantage of the beautiful mountains of East Tennessee and shoot close to home. While Norris isn't playing Blue Jays, during his time off, he has been traveling across California while living in his Volkswagon bus.. He also posted some of my photos on social media and that is when these photos took off. These photos got featured in the latest ESPN magazine, People magazine, featured internationally in Canada, Germany, Sweden and more.. It's been an amazing journey these past several months taking these product shots for a local business and seeing them being featured in so many magazines in the US and internationally. It's also been such a learning experience for me.

The Fouled Anchor: Daniel Norris

The Fouled Anchor, a new men's handmade store recently opened in downtown Johnson City. Patrick Muncey, the founder of the business asked me to take photos using these products in it's natural habitat. Daniel Norris, player of the Toronto Blue Jays was the perfect fit for this session.

These photos have been featured internationally all over Canada including the National Post, Toronto Star, and Yahoo News. The photos were also talked about on TV in the Major League Baseball Network, referring to the "famous axe photo." Working with Patrick Muncey was an incredible experience and I'm excited for our Spring photo session.
